Daytona Beach police are looking for a man accused of doing a little Christmas shopping last month without paying for a $3,200 diamond ring from a Zales jewelry store in the Volusia Mall.

Police have obtained a warrant for Lashumbia Dertezlaroy Session, 30, charging him with grand theft.

Information about Session was released Monday as the agency's "most wanted" criminal of the week.

Session, whose last known address was in the 200 block of S. Keech Street in Daytona Beach, is accused of walking into the store about 4 p.m. Dec. 23 and asking to see a ring in the wedding jewelry section, according to a police report.

After he had the ring in his hand, he sprinted from the store and ran out the closest mall exit with several people chasing him, the report said. Police got a description of the car and lifted fingerprints from the counter in the store.

Police said the ring was 1.5 carats with a round stone and several small stones.

Anyone with information on Session's location can contact Daytona Beach police Detective Scott Frantz at 386-671-5247.

Peter Heck and Ivy Navarro Naumann, the $150,000 Waterfront Beach Resort wedding-contest winners recently shopped for wedding rings at Mimi's Jewelry Inc. in Fountain Valley.

VIEW RING SELECTION SLIDE SHOW

You would think that picking out a ring is the easiest thing in the world, especially if it's free because you won it in a contest. But, all the glitter and sparkle in the jewelry store showcases can start to cloud your judgment.

David Truong, the owner of Mimi's Jewelry says his family has owned the company for 25 years over three generations. They have another store in Newport Beach and both offer custom designs, repairs, antique restoration and watch making. They're also diamond importers and have master jewelers and certified gemologists on staff.

Truong helped the couple pick out their wedding rings. Each selected four choices, and voters will determine which one wins.

Peter, being a firefighter, works in a very rough environment, and Truong knew the ring's material will be an important factor. "I suggested to Pete a tungsten carbide. It's a good choice because it's completely impervious," Truong said. "It's perfect for someone that works with their hands and is very active.

For Ivy's it's the design that counted. "I wanted it to match the engagement ring that Pete picked out," Truong said. "Guys take a lot of pride when they pick out a ring."

Upon closer inspection Truong noticed that Ivy's engagement ring was missing a couple of little diamonds and wanted to make sure her wedding ring and her engagement ring were structurally sound. "I want her to wear it everyday without worrying bout it," Truong said.

Truong fixed the engagement ring by replacing the tiny diamonds and sized it as well, to fit perfectly on Ivy's finger.

Today through Feb. 6 you can vote for Peter and Ivy's wedding rings.
