Local woman is among those invited to the Royal Wedding - St. Louis Post-Dispatch

ROYAL MAIL: St. Louis' Elizabeth Vatterott Wimpress, now of Dallas, is one of the fortunate 1,900 people in the world who opened their mailboxes recently to discover gilt-edged invitations to the April 29th royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Wimpress' invitation came about because of her engagement to Lord Charles Vivian, the seventh Baron Vivian, and a friend of princes Harry and William.

Wimpress is in London now and was unavailable to talk today so I spoke with her mother, Susan Vatterott, who was in Dallas staying with her grandchildren, James, 17, and Chloe, 16.

Vatterott said her daughter has met William and Kate in an informal setting and commented that they were charming and beautifully mannered.

She said her daughter's engagement to a titled member of British royalty "is a fairy tale."

"He's the sweetest most humble man you can imagine," Vatterott said of her son-in-law to be. She said Vivian is a principal in a marketing and public relations firm in London.

Vatterott said her daughter, a graduate of Villa Duchesne and Boston College, moved to Dallas about 14 years ago for her former husband's job. After the couple divorced, Wimpress stayed in Dallas and ran her own jewelry business, Two Blonde Lizzards, which counted retailer Neiman Marcus as a client.

Dallas has a sizeable British community and someone from that group introduced Wimpress and Vivian in New York and their romance and engagement followed. The couple is planning a fall wedding, Vatterott said.

Vatterott is an interior designer with her own business in St. Louis, SLV Design, Inc. Her husband, Greg Vatterott, is the president of CF Vatterott Construction Co.
