Police seek wedding ring thieves - Dayton Daily News Posted: 24 Nov 2010 05:28 PM PST By Denise Wilson, Staff Writer Updated 8:33 PM Wednesday, November 24, 2010 MONROE — Police are asking for help in identifying a man and a boy who allegedly stole three diamond bridal ring sets Tuesday morning from Ultra Diamonds at Cincinnati Premium Outlets. The man distracted the store clerk while the juvenile reached over the counter and took a display of rings, said Monroe police Detective Doug Leist. "Both appear to have been working together to commit the theft," he said. The pair entered the store at 10:20 a.m., according to police. The adult is described as a heavy set black male between 35 and 40 years old who was wearing a black hat and a black coat with red stripes on the sleeves with a patch or insignia on the back. The juvenile was described as a black male between 9 and 11 years of age who was waring a black hat, jeans and a hooded sweatshirt with the letters "AR" on one side and "EO" on the other. Investigators said a black man in his late 30s and a black boy around 10 years old came into Ultra jewelry store together, and the man distracted a clerk while the boy reached over the counter and took three diamond wedding ring sets on display. Police said the pair appeared to be working together. The man was wearing a black hat and a black coat with red stripes on the sleeve and an insignia on the back. The boy was wearing a black hat, jeans and hooded sweatshirt with the letters "AE" on one side and "RO on the other.
