Drake: My Mom Took My Twitter Wedding Joke Seriously - People Posted: 13 Sep 2010 05:41 AM PDT ![]() Drake and Nicki Minaj Adrian Sidney/PictureGroup "Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and don't stare at her too long," the rapper Tweeted on Aug. 27. "She's finally mine." "Yes, it's true," Minaj, 25, added via Twitter. "Drake and I tied the knot." But no one was more surprised to hear the supposed big news than the rapper's mother. "My mom was actually like, 'What happened? How did you elope?' " the rapper, 23, told PEOPLE at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday. "But we were just joking around. I never thought it would get so out of hand." This wasn't the first time that Mama Drake likely wondered about her son's romantic life – last year, he was rumored to be dating Rihanna. And it didn't help matters when Drake bought himself a certain piece of jewelry around the time of the wedding Tweets. "Ironically, I got a ring for myself, so people were like, 'Aw, you got married, and you have a ring you're wearing," he says. Drake's seemingly innocent joke also had some additional backlash beyond his worried mom. "People still think it's real," he says. "I'll look at a girl, and she'll be like, 'You're a married man. You shouldn't look at me that way.' Clifton Park couple wins wedding contest - Troy Record Posted: 14 Sep 2010 09:29 AM PDT SCOTIA – DreamDateWeddings.com has announced that Matt Streifert and Alana Sangiacomo of Clifton Park have been selected as the winners of the "Luxury for Less Dream Date Wedding Contest." The announcement followed two weeks of voting by area residents who cast more than 6,000 votes. The couple will receive the grand prize of a wedding reception for 100 people at Glen Sanders Mansion, the flagship venue of Mazzone Management Group, owned and operated by area restaurateur Angelo Mazzone. The grand prize package also includes a set of wedding bands, courtesy of Northeastern Fine Jewelry, the area's leading independent jeweler. The contest underscores the launch of DreamDateWeddings.com which provides couples the chance to secure premier wedding packages at substantial savings on select dates at Mazzone owned and operated venues. The website also features savings packages from some of the area's most celebrated wedding vendors, including bands, photographers, videographers, florists, and banquet facilities. Streifert and Sangiacomo were one of five capital region couples selected as finalists in the month-long contest. Each couple submitted a short video explaining why they deserve a "luxury for less" wedding. The winner was determined based on the number of public votes submitted for each finalist at www.dreamdateweddings.com. Streifert, a music teacher, and Sangiacomo, a social worker, share a love of musical theater. They met while performing in a local stage production. The couple's dream wedding includes personal touches, such as a friend serving as the officiant and another making the cake, and plan to incorporate their love of music into the reception with karaoke for their guests.
