Police: Kings Mountain man stole wedding rings, class rings, coin collection - Shelby Star Posted: 18 Jun 2010 03:38 PM PDT Police charged a Kings Mountain man on Friday with stealing men's and women's wedding rings, two high school class rings and other jewelry worth a combined $8,000 from a Gaston County home. Roy William Burgess, 26, of 403 N. Cansler St., allegedly looted a home on the 100 block of Lafayette Road near Stanley May 9. A Hunter Huss High class ring from 1975 and Stanley High class ring from 1968 were stolen, along with a white gold and diamond ring worth $2,500, three wedding bands, a Western Carolina college ring and a gold and diamond Duke Power watch. Also reported stolen was a $500 coin collection and rare currency and a Taurus .38-caliber handgun. Burgess was charged with two counts of felony breaking and/or entering and one count each of felony larceny, larceny after breaking/entering, larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
